Testimony Of A Young Black Woman
Ms. Surratt meets a formidable acting challenge. Jacintha has several personalities, each with her own exquisitely devious program for concealing truth as a tale of appalling abuse and hopeless longing unfolds. The abuse comes from her mother, her employer, her neighbors -- the whole world, it seems -- and all of it is based on color. Ms. Surratt positively pulls the audience through this terrible labyrinth with her.
